WayBack 03:42
I've seen you out the corner of my eye Wishing the world was as easy as you are high And hey, hey, hey - where did the good times fall? But you won't say just what you want at all But I've seen you in the rain Dancing with that insane smile Tryn'a work out the way to come crawlin' back Run and Hide Run and Hide I've seen you take a load off, on my mind Lookin' at all the colours and going blind And hey, hey, hey - where did the good times fall? But you won't say just what you want at all At all. But I've seen you in the rain Dancing with that insane smile Tryn'a work out the way to come crawlin' back Run and Hide Run and Hide But I've seen you in the rain Dancing with that insane smile

Logic High 04:13
She's got electric probes all connected up to her brain And all those Ones and Zeroes are driving her insane But she knows when it's all over, Everyone will want to know her And when she trips and falls, yeah she looks at the world with despair But she don't give a damn She says 'That's not right', she says 'That's not who I am' Well who am I?
3.
Blind 03:02
See the curtains - behind the big red door? 'Cos it feels certain that I just cannot take no more Another day's done where you believe your lies Just a mimic - walking 'round with shadows in your Eyes, 'cos you walked the line so many times that you've gone blind And I'm all alone on the little world you left behind Obsession Beckons Sentiment's Eternity - I'll Suffer Slowly, 'til the End of all my Dreams Smiling echoes, loose connections in my head Wish I'd listened to all the things you never said, and I walked the line so many times that I've gone blind and now I'm all alone on the little world you left behind 'Cos we walked the line, but now the line's just in my mind.
4.
Mr Daydream 03:53
To all the crazy people who are asking what's wrong with my head Tell 'em I'm singin' Revolution 9 to the ghosts at the foot of my bed I wanna catch a train, but I really don't got a destination and Mr Daydream got pissed and crashed his car on the tracks at the station Still, I feel free Self deprecation guaranteed - I'm a million Volts, full of lightning bolts but I just don't got a clue I'm sitting right-side-up on an upside down party sofa and the trees come and go as the please but they keep getting closer Still, I feel free Self deprecation guaranteed - I'm a million Volts, full of lightning bolts and I just don't got a clue Yeah, I'm still here - intoxicated on doubt and beer I'm a million Volts, full of lightning bolts and I just don't got a clue

Long Nights 04:02
Flicking the thoughts away, day by day Just passing through Wandering aimlessly through my mind - All the broken roads, that don't lead to you And was it a dream, when everything seemed alright? The day turns to night again, you're in my eyes as we both scream and Help me, there's nowhere to hide Well, I guess that's it's just someone else's luck That they've stolen from fate And I guess what we were's just a memory Like you'll be one day 'Cos rain can't just fall again, Roses will die Snared by the light And if people will live and die, I know I have to try And put it aside, to get through the long nights Well, I guess that's it's just someone else's luck That they've stolen from fate And I guess what we were's just a memory Like you'll be one day

IS MY PESTO OUT OF DATE?

Lucid 04:24
For a falling, fading dream I was alive Another blurred reality in the twilight Disconnected reason, feeling so tired And my eyes will open wide, all in good time Scattered words don't make a sound And time stands still as my mind drowns And what for all the noise that's breeding in my brain? What is to become of what I had to say? Another hidden truth that noone ever knows Concealed paradise; where lonely souls will roam And after all, I wake up here Where all the colours disappear Scattered words don't make a sound And time stands still as my mind drowns Stellar dream I can't recall: The brightest light's not there at all
8.
Waterfall 05:03
Evil eyes surround the walls Angels die, planets fall Can't you hear the devil call? She don't lie after all My mind drowns, and I disappear Don't make a sound - All in good time, twilight comes. Voices sleeping on the floor Dark knights spy down this hall Take these lies and learn to crawl 'cos you're just like a waterfall And my mind drowns, and I'll disappear Don't make a sound - 'Cos all in good time, twilight comes. You're a waterfall, my oldest friend We'll keep on driftin' down these rivers, 'til the end of it all My mind drowns, and disappears Don't make a sound - 'Cos all in good time, twilight comes. You're a waterfall, my oldest friend We'll keep on driftin' down these rivers, 'til the end of it all You're a waterfall, my oldest friend We'll keep on driftin' down these rivers, 'til the end of it all

Words 02:50
Gotta love the feeling, when I don't know the meaning You still hear the notes that I can't hit Look up at the ceiling, and think what I believe in My tongue just refuses to commit 'Cos you make my day A feelgood tune on every single record that you play And I know you can see All the words I fail to say and all the things I feel When the demons hold me back, and I'm falling through the cracks Your borrowed wings won't let me slip away Just let me have your light, and we'll cut right through the night - Dancing like we've nothing else to say 'Cos you make my day A feelgood tune on every single record that you play And I know you can see All the words I fail to say and all the things I feel Gotta love the feeling - 'cos you know just how to heal me
10.
From the edge, I was staring Over the threshold, into the dark Bound to depart to a lonely avenue Swallowed up by the ground Were faces and places and fragments of sound Echoes resound as the world turns 'round 'Cos my feet don't feel like mine at all When tomorrow calls And these surefire streets ain't roads no more 'Til you take me home While the days all decay The knights of forever return in their place And dance in the rain to a song I never played And as the sands shift away The wheels stay revolving on yesterday's train Memories fade, but our dreams remain 'Cos my feet don't feel like mine at all When tomorrow calls And these surefire streets ain't roads no more 'Til you take me home From the edge, I was staring Over the threshold, and into the dark Bound to depart to a lonely avenue Dim the lights, shut the sky Give me a moment frozen in time Ghosts in my mind couldn't save me anyway
11.
You got a lot to say You gotta make it heard And sometimes it's not easy to put it into words And if you haven't noticed, there's nothing in your way Just leave the troubles for the troubled, get out that little bubble Enjoy another sunny day Sometimes you need to leave your head behind If you ever wanna get to paradise You know they'll love you all the while, As long as you know you made them smile You know that I believe in real, And the way the things around me make me feel alive The sun ain't here for long, just grab it while you can No point in wasting time that you don't have, so get up if they knock you down And if you haven't noticed, there's nothing in our way Just leave the troubles for the troubled, get out that little bubble Enjoy another sunny day Sometimes you need to leave your head behind If you ever wanna get to paradise You know they'll love you all the while, As long as you know you made them smile You know that I believe in real, And the way the things around me make me feel alive Sometimes you need to leave your head behind If you ever wanna get to paradise You know they'll love you all the while, As long as you know you made them smile You know that I believe in real, And the way the things around me make me feel alive

Haunted 03:05
These rainclouds in the sky Keep reaching down for me They take me to another world where my friends are enemies And riding on the ghost train, the conductress softly speaks Reminds me I'm not one of them And then she takes her leave And I just ain't got much to say We're not so much the same, that much is clear Your smile washed away with the rain I guess I can't complain now that we're here So take your little time, and don't forget to speak Remember to press play and leave your message at the beep I'll be on my way back, sailing seas of make-believe Standing there in silence writing heartfelt symphonies And I just ain't got much to say We're not so much the same, that much is clear Your smile washed away with the rain I guess I can't complain now that we're here And I just ain't got much to say We're not so much the same, that much is clear Your smile washed away with the rain I guess I can't complain now that we're here

about

The critically unclaimed debut album from Vaguely Strangers has landed. The deluxe edition features an extra smattering of demos, remixes, and exclusive new tracks - along with extra sell-by-date confusion, naturally.

Matt Brook: Writer of tunes, liver of life, enjoyer of chairs. Frontman of his own mildly hazy reality, the West London guitarist / bagel enthusiast returns following the demise of his former troupe PIONEER, armed to the teeth with a set of vaguely tolerable songs, a band of strangers to do his bidding, and a jar of pesto that tastes totally fine.
